I want to share a journey that changed my relationship with food, animals, people, and nature—one that started with a single moment of realization and led me to create Mourish.
For years, I struggled to find food options that aligned with who I am. I knew there had to be a better way—one that didn’t compromise on our love for ourselves, animals, and nature. That’s what led me to take a leap into entrepreneurship, searching for innovative solutions that could make plant-based eating more accessible.
During that journey, my team and I discovered something extraordinary: mycelium. We were amazed by its nutritional benefits, rich texture, and potential to transform the way we think about protein. The deeper we explored, the more convinced we became that mycelium is a true gift from nature.
That’s when we started experimenting with different ways to harness its power. As outdoor enthusiasts, we wanted a high-protein, plant-based snack that was both delicious and nutritious. Most options on the market relied on soy or mushrooms, but we saw an opportunity to do something different. Mourish Jerky was born—a high-protein mushroom jerky made with mycelium, designed to fuel adventure while being kind to the planet.
